Complete List of All National Parks and Monuments, Memorials, Historic Sites and Historical Parks
The Organic Act created the National Park Service in 1916. Additionally, the list of the 63 “national parks” is pretty straight-forward and managed by the national park service (NPS). However, the list of national monuments (as part of the antiquities act) is a little more complex, as they can be managed by the National Park Service, Bureau of Land Management, the US Fish and Wildlife Management, the US Forest Service, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration or a combination of the above. Today, there is 431 units that include national parks, but also a number of other “park” designations.
I’ve tried to make some of these pages that I look for, but cannot find. Also, there aren’t a lot of pages that list the full list of national parks, national monuments, national historic sites, national historical parks, national memorials, etc. However, new ones are added or existing ones are modified, so things may have changed from when this page was created. I’ve include both the National Park Site link as well as my own 545Travel link (if one is available).
